Hey there. My name is Dante Spado. I like to write and tell stories.
But to understand why I like telling stories for brands, I should probably tell you mine.
I have always, always, always enjoyed stories, whether that be as a teller or a listener. For a long time, I pushed my passion for writing to the side because I thought I wouldn’t be able to do anything with it.
Boy, was I wrong.
After giving biology the ol’ “college try” and quickly being weeded out, I thought to myself, “Screw it, what do I have to lose?” I signed up for a few screenwriting classes, and that’s when things clicked. I probably should have realized creative writing was the right fit for me after spending countless hours thinking about how I would re-write episodes and storylines from my favorite TV shows. But hey, better late than never.
I became an advertising major at the University of North Carolina’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, learned about copywriting, and thought it was too good to be true.
“People actually do this for a living?”
Turns out they do, and now I’m one of them.
